Sorry for the 2 day hiatus, Family issues. Anyways You've probably heard of Kevin Rudolf, Famous for his "Let it Rock" song with Lil Wayne. Little do most people know is that he has many other songs, and not all of them are pop. I'm more into blues/rock and 90% of this album is that. My favourites by far are "Gimme a sign" and "Welcome to the world", and when I'm in a bad mood? "Great Escape". "Welcome to The World" is more pop/rock like. I enjoyed it, but that's just me.

I'm just trying to show people the other side of his music, maybe you'll like it, maybe not.

I linked a couple of the songs I really enjoyed in the track listings. I'd give them a listen. I might do more Mastadon albums, not sure yet, I have a lot of suggestions and a lot to pick from.

Want to suggest something? tell me about the new blog post look? comment about the album? comment below!

Hide From the Sun by The Rasmus

Another favourite of mine. A somewhat less-popular band, but still good. THis album came out in 2005, and I still seem to listen to it every now and again. They have an eerie feel to their songs. It's all downy rock, but great to relax to suprisingly. This is the album that got me into The Rasmus, so this might hook you too.

I recommend you atleast listen to "No Fear" and "Sail Away".

Track List:
   1. "Shot" – 4:18
   2. "Night after Night (Out of the Shadows)" – 3:44

Blessed are the Bonds by Pax Cecilia

This was a request from a friend. I have to say I liked how this group deals with their music. They give it out for free right here from there website. The music was different than what I generally listen to, but I enjoyed some of the songs. I feel as if I wasn't totally in the mood for the album. "The Tradgedy" was good. Either way they have all their songs on YouTube, or for FREE download, so once again, nothing to lose folks.

Track List:
1. the Tragedy
2. the Tomb Song
3. the Progress
4. the Machine
5. the Wasteland
6. the Water Song
7. the Tree

The Slip by Nine Inch Nails

Obvious one here, probably you've heard one or two of these songs on the radio. Nine Inch Nails is dedicated to rock music. Most of the songs are upbeat and get me going. Open discussion

Alright guys, I started the sparks, but it's time for you to fan the flames. What albums to you want me to listen to? I'll give better reviews than I have before. Post your comments below!

Teenage Dream by Katy Perry

Katy Perry's is actually pretty good, considering the type of music I enjoy. It's not as much pop as a lot of other stuff out there at the moment, and I was suprised by it. I enjoyed a couple of the songs on the album, mainly the top 2 you've probably heard on the radio.

Some of the songs I found annoying, but that's just me. Maybe digital download would be better than buying the whole album because not every song in this album is great, but that's more your decision.

Track List:
  1. Teenage Dream
  2. Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)
  3. California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dogg)
  4. Firework
  5. Peacock
  6. Who Am I Living For?
  7. The One That Got Away
  8. E.T.
  9. Circle The Drain
  10. Pearl
  11. Hummingbird Heartbeat
  12. Not Like The Movies

Out of It by Brad Sucks

Haha, one of my favourite albums by far. Brad Sucks is a pretty unknown artist. He lives right in my area (Toronto) and does shows quite often. His music in this album is mostly rock/indie rock. He's a pretty amazing guy. I saw him when I was at York University. Anyways give his album a listen, especially Dropping out of School and Out of It. This is the album THAT GOT ME into indie rock music.

There is hope for the rest of you ;)

Crazy for You by Best Coast

Best Coast is a new group with a similar sound to the Beach boys, with a wavy guitar/bass theme to it. Indie rock is what the genre is, but somehow it feels like more than that. It feels like you've known this band all your life because their music seems so familiar, or maybe I'm just nostalgic for 60's and 70's music. Anyways they're amazing, and "Boyfriend" and "Crazy for You" are without a doubt the best in the album. Too many filler songs for my tastes, but it still adds up to a good album. Some songs have meaningless lyrics which bugs me, though...

Track List:
1.     "Boyfriend"       2:30
2.     "Crazy for You"       1:50
3.     "The End"       2:42
4.     "Goodbye"       2:40
5.     "Summer Mood"       2:26
6.     "Our Deal"       2:08
7.     "I Want To"       2:46
8.     "When the Sun Don't Shine"       2:16
9.     "Bratty B"       1:43
10.     "Honey"       3:02
11.     "Happy"       1:44
12.     "Each and Everyday"       2:52
13.     "When I'm With You"       2:58

For Lack of a Better Name by Deadmau5

Deadmau5 has done it again with his amazing album "For Lack of a Better Name". I'm not someone who is into house music, but his album was so amazing, it was definatly worth the buy. Ocean Eyes by Owl City

Ocean Eyes is by a popular artist known as "Owl City". His music is all over the boards, and hard to pin to 1 genre. It features a bit of autotune and a lot of synth, but is soothing to listen to. Released in 2008. Contains the hit song "Fireflies", which I'm sure you've heard.

To The Sky - Kevin Rudolf

Brand new album (June 2010) with a great list of tracks ranging from pop to rock. His music is undefinable, similar to Lady Gaga in the sense of the word. I'd recomment anyone into rock and who also enjoy pop this album.
